The Work You’ll Do:
The Sales Engineer will act as a strategic technical advisor supporting complex, multi-country sales engagements across Sovos’ tax and compliance technology portfolio.
This is a senior pre-sales role for a commercially driven professional who thrives in enterprise environments, leads structured discovery, and confidently positions high-value solutions. While deep tax expertise is not required, the ability to quickly understand regulatory frameworks and articulate business impact is essential.
You will operate independently, partnering closely with Sales, Alliances, Product and Professional Services to drive revenue growth in both direct and partner-led opportunities
More specifically you will:
- Lead complex, multi-entity discovery sessions across global customer organisations
- Map customer transaction flows, ERP landscapes, and regulatory exposure
- Design scalable, cross-border solution architectures aligned to business and compliance needs
- Confidently position the commercial value of Sovos solutions, not just demonstrate functionality
- Influence technical and business stakeholders, including senior decision-makers
- Partner with Sales to shape account strategy and advance deals through structured qualification
- Own technical responses for enterprise RFPs, RFIs and global tenders
- Deliver tailored demonstrations reflecting global regulatory and ERP scenarios
- Operate as a trusted advisor in partner-led and embedded solution models
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless transition from pre-sales to implementation
- Contribute to global pre-sales best practices, messaging, and competitive positioning
- Maintain high-quality demo environments aligned with global market requirements
What We Need From You:
- 1-3 years of experience in Sales Engineering or Technical Pre-Sales within enterprise software
- Proven success supporting complex, multi-country or enterprise-level deals
- Strong ability to lead structured discovery and solution mapping conversations
- Commercial mindset with confidence influencing customer buying decisions
- Experience navigating ERP ecosystems is highly desirable
- Exposure to tax, compliance, regulatory, finance or adjacent domains is advantageous
- Comfortable operating independently with limited regional infrastructure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work effectively across time zones and global teams
- Willingness to travel occasionally
What Does Sovos Offer You?
The tools to enhance your life – because we want you to enjoy your life outside of work and inside!
- An opportunity to work with a global team
- Bi-Weekly Meeting Free Days!
- Mentoring Programs
- Globally recognised Training and Development programs
