This position is a Permanent position
As an Independent Living Officer, you will be expected to
- Be responsible for managing the Independent Living Service in a designated area by delivering intensive housing management, which encompasses the five key outcomes identified on the housing action plan.
- To be successful in an Independent Living Officer role, the skills you will need:
- Educated to GCSE standard of equivalent.
- Full driving licence and use of car for work.
- To be prepared to attend evening meeting and be flexible where appropriate.
- Educated to CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice or the willingness to learn.
- An understanding of safeguarding and vulnerable groups.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to manage own workload without direct supervision.
- Ability to work in and adapt to a changing environment ensuring deadlines are met.
- Good standard of ICT literacy and the confidence to use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel daily.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

- Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
- Experience of liaising with social, medical and care agencies.
- Previous experience of housing management.
- Knowledge of housing legislation.
