What we are looking for from you to join our team:
- A Gas Engineers Mate to assist the gas engineer to carry out repairs and maintenance to customer homes in a safe and proper manner, ensuring works are completed to a consistently high standard in addition to providing our customers with their best experience of customer service.
- Provide an efficient and effective service as a member of the Gas Compliance team, creating an environment that is enjoyable to work in, and to include colleagues, both trade and office staff, as part of your team.
To be successful in a Gas Engineers Mate role, the skills you will need:
- Experience of working in a building environment and completing repair work in occupied homes.
- A knowledge of relevant legislation and/or Codes of Practice i.e. Construction, Building Regulations and Health & Safety.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with homeowners, external agencies and office-based colleagues.
- Able to plan and prioritise to ensure the effective use of own time.
- Commitment to providing a high-quality service to all customers.
- Able to form & maintain good working relationships at all levels, internal & externally.
- Excellent communication skills, possessing the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the Organisation across multiple communication channels including Teams and face-to-face.
Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
- To be Gas Safe Registered (CCN 1, CPA 1, CEN/WAT, HTR1).
- Able to complete gas documentation i.e. LGSRs on PDA device.
- Familiar with PDA and other electronic devices.
- Experience working in repairs and maintenance in housing services.
- Extensive proven experience of repairs and maintenance, particularly breakdowns.
- Sound Practical knowledge and experience of gas works.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Ability to work in an agile working environment.
