We are currently looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join Sovini Property Services, part of The Sovini Group. As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will be expected to:

  • Carry out grounds maintenance works to domestic and communal grassed areas which Sovini Property Services manage.
  • Duties will include grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning and bed work.
  • Ensure high quality performance is delivered.
  • Adhere to contract programmes and ensure target times are achieved.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues.
  • Ensure all works are carried out and completed to a high standard.
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of all plant and machinery.
  • Identify specific needs for customers and ensure the service is tailored accordingly.
  • Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
  • Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

To be successful in a Grounds Maintenance Operative role, the skills you will need:

  • Level 2 qualification in Horticulture.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Good overall standard of education.
  • Industry training Lantra or NPTC PA1 and PA6 qualification.
  • Experience of a similar role previously either for a contractor or directly for a housing association.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate proactive approach to the achievement of team goals.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised and demonstrate initiative and acceptance of responsibility.
  • Excellent organisation skills including the ability to prioritise and manage own workload, meet deadlines and achieve targets.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels within the organisation and externally.
  • High level of customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside of conventional hours when required.
  • Full, clean driving license preferably with category BE allowing you to tow a trailer.
