Salary: £39,900.00 - £44,520.00 per year (Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester). You will report directly to the Technical Manager – Gas and work within a wider team. As a Heating Engineer you will carry out gas servicing and heating breakdowns in customer homes, perform planned maintenance checks, repair gas leaks, install or repair heating pipework, and advise customers on gas safety and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform gas servicing and heating breakdowns in accordance with work schedules and Gas Safety regulations.
  • Carry out planned maintenance checks on systems and equipment.
  • Repair gas leaks and replace old gas system parts.
  • Install and repair heating system pipework.
  • Advise customers on gas safety and energy‑efficiency options.
  • Use an iPad and other IT equipment to record service data.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Certified in CCN1 – Core Gas Safety, CENWAT1 – Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters, MET1 – Meters, CKR1 – Domestic Cookers, HTR1 – Gas Fires & Wall Heaters.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Domestic Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to drive a company van.
  • Previous experience as a domestic gas service or breakdown engineer.
  • Experience working within social housing (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence using IT equipment such as iPads.
