Can you deliver customer-centric welfare benefit advice and income maximisation? We have an opportunity for a Welfare Benefits Advisor to join our Customer Income Team in Bristol. This is a hybrid working role with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
The Role
As a Welfare Benefits Advisor, you'll provide our customers with budgeting and welfare benefit advice. This will include:
- Completing Income and Expenditure statements
- Giving budgeting advice
- Benefit grant applications
- Signposting for additional support
You'll be working with both internal and external partners including Housing Benefit, Department of Works and Pensions and independent money, debt or legal advice services.
To be successful in this role you'll need:
- An up-to-date working knowledge of the benefits system
- Experience of supporting customers to complete statements and applications
- The ability to work with internal and external partners to achieve the best outcome for the customer
- Experience of supporting vulnerable customers with kindness and empathy
- Effective decision-making skills, a diplomatic and confidential approach and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
