We are now the 6th largest housing association by size – with almost 3000 colleagues, over 85,000 homes and over 200,000 customers across London and the South. We’re currently recruiting for an experienced/qualified Plumber to join our Property Team in our Newbury locality. As you’ll spend a fair amount of time on the road we will provide you with a business‑use van and fuel card so you’ll not be out of pocket.
Responsibilities
- Complete plumbing repairs and maintenance jobs to SNG’s properties in line with work schedules within our Responsive Repairs Team and elsewhere depending on demand.
- Repair domestic plumbing installations.
- Install replacement sanitary ware, baths, shower trays and level decks and associated equipment.
- Install kitchen sinks.
- Install new pipe work (copper, speed fit, waste, rainwater).
- Install new sundry items such as taps and ball valves.
- Repair sundry items.
- Install and repair water mains supplies, heating system pipe work and drainage stop taps.
- Install and fix domestic appliances such as showers and washing machines.
- Vented and unvented cylinder heads (HWSS qualified or alternative).
- Cold water storage tank maintenance and renewal.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing, or at least 5 years of experience within this core trade.
- Experience working in occupied premises and excellent customer service skills.
- Strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
- Ability to use mobile technology such as iPad or PDA.
- Current CSCS card is desirable.
- Full and current driving licence with a minimum of 1 year driving experience and ability to drive a company van.
