We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join our compliance services team covering Newbury, Thatcham and Reading. This role involves time on the road, so we will provide you with a van and fuel card and a £335 yearly tool allowance.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine testing of electrical services equipment and repairs in customers' homes as part of the Electrical Team.
  • Undertake responsive repairs and works within our planned teams in line with work schedules, IEE wiring regulations and SNG's established standard procedures.
  • Use a strong health‑and‑safety mindset and knowledge of best practices.
  • Estimate, requisition and recommend the acquisition of necessary materials and spares to ensure satisfactory repairs and maintenance are carried out following IEE wiring regulations and Health and Safety at Work regulations.
  • Record and report on the status and condition of electrical services equipment via periodic inspection sheets and minor works/installation certificates.

Required qualifications

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), 18th Edition BS7671 and City & Guild 2391 Electrical Test/Inspect qualifications.
  • Experience within a similar role, preferably in the residential/housing sector.
  • Full and current driving licence with at least 1 year of experience, required to travel within the role. The role is subject to a satisfactory licence check and essential qualifications check.

Working hours

Full‑time, 40 hours per week, with the opportunity to supplement your salary through call‑out and overtime at competitive rates.
