Overview
In this role you will manage the accounting for a multi‑billion fixed asset portfolio, ensuring accurate recording and compliant reporting. You will work closely with the finance team to support monthly management reporting and annual statutory accounts, while improving asset processes. The position offers hybrid work from Basingstoke and a chance to contribute to a large housing portfolio. You’ll be part of a detail‑focused, stakeholder‑oriented team that values accuracy, controls, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Record fixed assets accurately in finance systems, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation
- Provide SME input to improve fixed asset processes and asset spend coding
- Support annual statutory accounts production and liaise with external auditors
- Calculate depreciation, amortisation, and asset disposals analysis
- Assist with budgeting, benchmarking, and KPI data for projects
- Coordinate monthly balance sheet reconciliations with the team
- Support financial reporting and ad hoc projects with stakeholders
Key requirements
- Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent post graduate qualification)
- Experience handling large data volumes in financial or fixed asset accounting
- Understanding of financial accounting processes, controls, and reconciliations
- Experience with fixed asset additions, disposals, and book value analysis (beneficial)
- Budgeting and forecasting exposure (advantageous)
- Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and stakeholder management
- Strong IT skills including MS Office
