It\’s a really exciting time to join us as Sovereign have joined forces with Network Homes to form SNG (Sovereign Network Group). We have a fantastic opportunity for a Supported Supported Housing Manager to join us. As we start to refresh and develop our strategy for Specialist Housing within SNG, this role will be key in influencing our direction and will help to shape and embed this, creating lots of opportunity for you to make a significant impact in this space.

You can be based at our Bristol, Newbury, Basingstoke or Hurn offices. There will be regular travel required across our geography so you should have access to transport and be happy to travel.

The Role

In this new role, you\’ll lead, manage and motivate a team of Supported Housing Managers and indirectly a large diverse customer-facing team, who work across all of our Localities to provide specialist housing management in close partnership with local authorities and external support providers.

Our Supported Housing team provide a wide range of services, including temporary accommodation for adults, young people and families at risk of homelessness, Housing First tenancies, housing for adults and young people with disabilities or mental illness, those experiencing domestic abuse, extra care housing and individual properties for customers with identified support needs. Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring our service delivers exceptional customer service and focuses on a ‘right first time\’ approach, working closely with colleagues across our Localities
  • Developing our partnerships with a range of local authorities and support providers
  • Supporting the Head of Specialist Housing to shape and develop our specialist housing strategy
  • To regularly monitor KPI\’s, customer feedback and staff surveys. Putting in place action plans where required with the emphasis on continuous improvement
  • To build and develop strong cross-functional relationships that ensure that Supported Housing is represented in terms of internal processes, ways of working and service improvement projects
  • Working closely with colleagues and contractors to ensure that the physical appearance of our accommodation is maintained and enhanced, leading on the planning and budgeting of improvement and refurbishment works
  • Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and best practice, and developing a strong knowledge of both customer needs and the operating environment

What we need from you

You\’ll need to have previous experience in a similar role, leading and managing a diverse team providing a broad range of supported housing services, particularly those supporting with homelessness prevention.

You\’ll also have:

  • Well-rounded knowledge of supported housing, with experience of designing and commissioning new services with partner organisations and delivering service improvement initiatives
  • A strong understanding of regulation and contractual requirements within a supported housing environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to form strong connections internally as well as externally with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills, with a developed coaching style of management and ability to influence internally and externally where required
  • Demonstrable leadership skills – a visible leader who empowers others and enables a supportive and collaborative working environment
