Since being formed in 1973, Sovereign Group have grown substantially investing heavily in training and technology to improve profitability and grow the business to meet clients' ever-increasing needs. The core business is the manufacturing and installation of PVC-U windows, doors, composite doors and other fenestration products to commercial clients. The head office comprises over 180,000 square feet of manufacturing, office, and warehousing facilities, and installations are undertaken nationwide to local authority, housing association, architectural, and contractor clients.

The role involves overseeing and managing contractual negotiations and operations with clients and subcontract survey and installation relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of installation contracts, leveraging their expertise to ensure unbreakable client relationships and high levels of satisfaction and quality. Success will be judged by lowest cost, highest quality survey and installation operations with high levels of client satisfaction and retention demonstrated by repeat business. Requirements

  • Recruit, retain, and develop survey and installation resource mainly on a sub-contract basis ensuring alignment with the company’s goals of lowest cost and high quality.
  • As a senior part of the management team, ensure manufacturing and survey/installation work together seamlessly.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop office-based staff to manage survey contract flow and procurement both from internal manufacturing and external suppliers.
  • Develop internal systems and processes to ensure lean and efficient operations.
  • Provide guidance on legal and regulatory compliance related to contracts across relevant jurisdictions and ensure compliance.
  • Play a part at senior level in setting and executing strategy at company as well as operational level.

The Person

  • A professional qualification (e.g., Degree, MIOB, RICS) is preferred.
  • An accomplished building contracts professional with detailed knowledge of the construction process and good practice in the fenestration industry, working knowledge of contractual issues.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in construction (main contract or subcontract), working at management level.
  • A leader and educator able to encourage, motivate, and empower others, building team spirit.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality results to customers and colleagues.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent planning skills and ability to coordinate disparate resources.
  • Able to problem solve and think creatively to achieve results.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for evaluating contractual terms and operational data.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with internal teams and external partners.
