Childcare Tutor to join a growing apprenticeship and training provider delivering high-quality learning across the childcare sector (L2 - L5).

This home-based role will primarily support learners across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and the

Home Counties .

The Role

You’ll manage a caseload of childcare apprentices and learners, delivering engaging, high-quality teaching that supports successful achievement and timely completion.

Working closely with employers, you’ll tailor learning to individual needs, conduct regular progress reviews and provide ongoing Information, Advice and Guidance throughout the learner journey.

You’ll embed English and Maths Functional Skills into apprenticeship delivery, maintain accurate learner records and e-portfolios, and ensure all teaching meets apprenticeship standards and awarding organisation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of childcare apprentices and vocational learners - (L2 - L5)
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging teaching sessions using a structured curriculum.
  • Adapt learning delivery to meet individual learner and employer needs.
  • Deliver engaging online, face-to-face and workplace-based learning.
  • Deliver and embed English and Maths Functional Skills throughout apprenticeship programmes.
  • Assess learner work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Conduct regular learner progress reviews with employers.
  • Identify and support learners facing barriers to achievement, referring to specialist support where appropriate.
  • Provide ongoing Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) throughout the learner journey.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, compliance documentation and e-portfolios.
  • Embed Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Health & Safety throughout delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to maintain quality standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, observations and standardisation.
  • Keep up to date with sector developments, funding requirements and teaching best practice.

Skills & Experience

  • Recognised teaching qualification (AET, PGCE or equivalent).
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA, CAVA or equivalent).
  • Strong occupational experience within the Childcare sector, including Early Years, Teaching Assistant or Residential Childcare.
  • Experience delivering English and Maths Functional Skills up to Level 2 (desirable).
  • Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Level 3 qualification (desirable).
  • Experience designing engaging teaching materials and lesson plans (desirable).
  • Knowledge of ESFA funding rules and the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) (desirable).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational, administration and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience supporting apprentices or vocational learners to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.
  • Confident managing a caseload and working independently in a home-based role.
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/Level 2 equivalent or above).
  • Full UK driving licence with the flexibility to travel across the East Midlands, Home Counties and nationally.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality learning and committed to safeguarding, learner wellbeing and continuous improvement.
