The Role
Are you passionate about shaping and inspiring the workforce of tomorrow? We are looking for a creative, dedicated and enthusiastic Multi-Skills Vocational Trainer to join a vibrant team in Ipswich.
This role is suitable for someone with a multi-trade background in plastering, joinery and/or bricklaying, or a general all-rounder with previous experience teaching a multi-skills course. You will deliver engaging, practical training and assessment to learners on a Level 1 multi-skills course, helping them develop their skills, confidence and progression towards their long-term aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Deliver engaging, practical multi-skills construction sessions to small groups of learners.
β’ Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to meet individual needs and learning objectives.
β’ Create and manage tailored learning plans that support learners' progression and long-term aspirations.
β’ Provide pastoral support, advice and guidance to learners throughout their programme.
β’ Use a variety of teaching and training methods to engage individuals with different learning styles.
β’ Ensure all learning delivery meets quality standards and compliance requirements.
β’ Monitor and record learner progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
β’ Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment in line with safeguarding and equality standards.
β’ Achieve quality targets, including those related to learner achievement, inclusion, progression and destination.
β’ Conduct risk assessments of all activities, always prioritising your own, learners' and others' safety.
Skills and Experience
β’ Industry-recognised qualification in Construction / Multi-Skills.
β’ Post-16 teaching qualification, or willingness to achieve this within an agreed timeframe.
β’ English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or above, or willingness to gain them.
β’ Proven professional or vocational expertise in the Construction sector.
β’ Experience in FE teaching and training is desirable.
β’ A multi-trade background in plastering, joinery and/or bricklaying, or broad all-round construction skills.
β’ Experience teaching or delivering a multi-skills course would be advantageous.
β’ Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
β’ Ability to engage and support a diverse range of learners and inspire them to achieve their full potential.
β’ Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
