About the Role: As we scale our infrastructure and operations, we are looking for a reliable, hands‑on Desktop Support Specialist to join our London office. This is a high‑impact role supporting a team of 30–50 employees. You will be the primary point of contact for all IT‑related needs, ensuring that our technical engineers and non‑technical staff alike have the skills, knowledge and tools they need to succeed.
- Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Management: Responsible for the end‑to‑end lifecycle of company hardware, primarily Apple MacBooks (provisioning, setup, and troubleshooting).
- Google Workspace Administration: Manage user accounts, facilitate password resets, and act as the internal trainer to help staff maximize their use of G Suite (Docs, Drive, Sheets, Meet).
- Networking & Connectivity: Provide general networking support, including managing VPN access, troubleshooting office Wi‑Fi, and ensuring secure remote/local connectivity.
- Office Infrastructure: Maintain and troubleshoot peripheral hardware including conferencing equipment, printers, and basic office networking equipment.
- User Support & Training: Provide 'white‑glove' support to both technical and non‑technical staff, translating complex IT issues into easy‑to‑understand solutions.
- Onboarding/Offboarding: Manage the IT transition for new hires and departing employees to ensure data security and asset recovery. Produce, update, maintain and deliver training material in Google Classroom to enable our staff to work effectively with the tools that they have been provided. The suitable candidate will be an evangelist for Google Workspace and Apple commuting devices.
- Qualifications & Skills
- Citizenship: Due to the nature of our work and security requirements, valid UK citizenship is a must. Background checks and Security Clearances will be required for this role; candidates must be able to achieve and maintain such clearances.
- macOS Proficiency: Expert‑level knowledge of Apple hardware and macOS software environments.
- Networking Knowledge: A solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Wi‑Fi troubleshooting).
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide training and support with patience and clarity whilst dealing with users from all levels of the organisation.
- Documentation Skills: You must be proficient in recording and documenting every activity or change you undertake and be meticulous on updating cases and worklogs.
- Proactivity: A self‑starter mindset – you enjoy identifying technical bottlenecks before they become problems.
