SWIS (South West Intervention Services) are a well-established and expanding company, seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and committed Registered Manager, to share our values ‘Believe, Achieve Succeed’, ensuring our young people receive outstanding care and support.
Due to our exciting growth plans, we are soon to be opening a brand new children’s home in East Cornwall, so this is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Manager to be instrumental with setting the home up ‘from scratch’.
*Overview:*
The Registered Manager for SWIS will oversee all operational aspects of the children’s home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the young people in our care. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing the home’s vision and values. The Registered Manager will lead and develop the staff team, create tailored care plans, and foster positive outcomes, ensuring each young person’s welfare, growth, and resilience.
*Main tasks:*
· Ensure that the home and staff operate in full accordance with all statutory, regulatory and standards requirements including Children Acts 1989 & 2004, Care Standards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
· Ensure that all children and young people have their needs met, their welfare promoted at all times and that they are safeguarded from any harm abuse, neglect, or exploitation
· To be responsible for the development, control, co-ordination and support of the staff team, and set high standards in respect to their own professional conduct
· Responsible for ensuring that effective records are maintained in accordance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and associated Regulations and Standards
· Responsible for all aspects of budgetary control relating to the Home
· Ensuring that effective rotas are prepared and followed and provide an on call rota
· Responsible for coordinating admissions and discharges for the home
· Deliver a coordinated service through effective liaison with the Social Workers, all other connected professional agencies and parents/carers
· Ensure staff receive support and supervision sessions
· Ensure staff respond to any child care concerns appropriately
*Essential criteria:*
· 5+ years’ experience working with children and young people
· 2+ years’ experience working within a managerial capacity in a children’s home
· Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
· Understanding Regulatory Frameworks including Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 including the Quality Standards
· Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
· UK driving licence
