Role Description

This full-time, on-site Gas Engineer role is based in Southwest of England and involves installing, servicing, and repairing gas-fired boilers, central heating systems, and associated plumbing.

Day-to-day responsibilities include carrying out diagnostics and fault-finding, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all work complies with current gas safety regulations and company standards.

The Gas Engineer will visit customer locations, provide clear explanations of work required, and complete accurate job reports and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ or equaivalent. Demonstrated experience working with gas systems, including LPG, and a strong understanding of relevant safety regulations.
  • Practical skills in central heating installation, servicing, and fault diagnosis.
  • Proficiency in plumbing tasks related to heating systems and domestic installations.
  • Experience in building maintenance and general maintenance & repair of heating equipment and associated infrastructure.
  • Valid Gas Safe registration (or eligibility to obtain), with up-to-date industry certifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on-site.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally as part of the role.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications (e. g., NVQ or City & Guilds in Plumbing and Heating or Gas Engineering) are highly beneficial.
