St Andrew’s, Earlsfield is seeking an Associate Priest (House for Duty) to join us at an important stage in the life of our parish. We are an urban church serving a diverse and growing community, with a particular increase in young families, and are committed to nurturing faith, serving our neighbourhood, and developing a generous mixed ecology of worship and discipleship.
Role
- Working collaboratively with the Incumbent, ministry team, and lay leaders, the Associate Priest will contribute to three strategic priorities in the life of the parish.
- Nurturing an all-age focus at the heart of Sunday worship – help shape and sustain an all-age Sunday service that is becoming the main focus of worship at St Andrew’s, reflecting the life and rhythms of the parish and responding to the growing presence of young families. The service will be a place of welcome, participation, and belonging, including the thoughtful integration of baptisms into the worshipping life of the church. Also support a wider pattern of worship across the parish, including traditional Eucharistic services, Forest Church, and café-style worship with young professionals and teenagers.
- Deepening spiritual life and discipleship – contribute to the spiritual formation of the community through preaching, pastoral care, small groups, and imaginative approaches to prayer and discipleship, accompanying people at different stages of faith and life.
- Supporting the social and environmental fabric of the parish – help strengthen St Andrew’s presence in Earlsfield by supporting initiatives that build community, encourage hospitality, promote justice, and deepen care for creation, rooting the life of the church more fully in the social and environmental fabric of the parish.
About You
- Has experience of ministry with young families
- Is confident across a range of worshipping traditions, from traditional Eucharist to fresh and contextual expressions of church
- Is entrepreneurial, adaptable, and at ease with change and innovation
- Has a proven record of leadership in ministry or the workplace, able to work both collaboratively and independently
- Brings creativity, strong communication skills, and ideally musicality, to their ministry
This House for Duty role offers the opportunity to contribute to the shaping of a future-fit parish — one that can thrive and flourish over time, both as a worshipping community and as a rooted presence within the life of Earlsfield.
