PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The post holder will support the Electoral Services team to deliver the Mayor of London and London Assembly Elections, taking place on 2 May 2024. The post holder will take responsibility for delivering key aspects of the planning and conduct of elections and the registration of electors, in accordance with project plans, being wholly accountable for the quality and outcome of the deliverables.

The post holder will assist in providing a professional service to the public, elected representatives, local authorities and colleagues within the council on all matters relating to electoral registration and elections. The post holder will assist in the implementation of plans to raise levels of voter registration and engagement in the electoral process, and to implement immediate and long-term strategies to ensure the accuracy of the register of electors, as well as providing advice and support in respect of access to and the use of the data contained in the register of electors, in accordance with DPA and GDPR principles.

Knowledge, including educational qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Some knowledge of a variety of project management tools, methodologies and best practice e.g., Agile or PRINCE2
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the council’s equalities, diversity and inclusion principles

Experience

  • Experience of working providing high quality administrative services and dealing with a wide range of complex work whilst ensuring good attention to detail
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment, providing excellent customer care and handling high volumes of telephone enquiries and emails
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team as well as independently using your own initiative
