What You'll Be Doing

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) team for those committed to making Southwark a safer and healthier place to live, work and visit. Based in Southwark Council’s No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) team, and reporting to the NRPF Team Leader, you will be responsible for assessing clients that approach the council for support. Your leadership of a rigorous assessment process will ensure that those in genuine need receive support, whilst safeguarding the Council against abuses of public funds. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will lead a team responsible for verifying applications for support from NRPF households. You will investigate each client’s circumstances to substantiate claims in accordance with the team’s policies and procedures and against relevant legislation. Working with social care colleagues you will ensure that, where appropriate, assessments of social care needs are undertaken.

What We're Looking For

About You:

We require someone that can manage a caseload of clients to ensure cases are kept under regular review and keep abreast of developments in policy and legislation. The ideal candidate will be able to assist the NRPF Team Leader to prepare reports and statistics on service performance for internal management reporting and contribute towards cross-departmental projects for people subject to immigration control and on initiatives to reduce fraud.
