About The Role
The Parks and Natural Environment team has a portfolio of over 100 separate sites, including parks, woodland, recreation grounds, cemeteries, a marina and other land properties. Many sites have diverse occupiers such as community groups, sports clubs, commercial businesses and residents. In this role you will support the Natural Environment Asset Manager in delivering important programmes of work, ensuring safe, accessible and welcoming services across the Council’s Marina, Bereavement Services and green spaces.
Key Priorities
- Contribute to the transformation of South Dock Marina Boatyard and other marina premises, and manage a portfolio of land and building assets, ensuring compliance, fit for purpose and financial sustainability.
- Assist in the effective procurement, negotiation, renewal and management of leases, service level agreements and concession/management contracts for assets across the Parks and Natural Environment business unit.
- Manage and implement robust monitoring of statutory compliance, health and safety and other key performance indicators.
About You
We are looking for a dedicated, energetic individual with knowledge of asset portfolio management, practical experience of contract procurement and management, and a track record of monitoring and tracking performance. Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent and experience in statutory building compliance, asset health and safety, risk management, lease and contracts management, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to use these skills to improve services for residents. Appropriate experience in a parks and natural environment setting can substitute for formal qualifications.
About The Team
The Parks and Natural Environment team delivers safe, accessible and welcoming spaces across the Council’s Marina, Bereavement Services (cemeteries and crematorium) and green spaces. Working closely with the Natural Environment Asset Manager, the team plays a vital role in delivering key programmes that support and enhance community services. The team values energy, enthusiasm, a proactive approach, continuous improvement and service excellence.
