About The Role

Consultant Social Worker to support families and foster/adoptants, lead team, reduce race disparity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Deputise for the team manager when absent.
  • Quality assure work to ensure good standard and meets timescales.
  • Lead and coordinate areas such as contact arrangements, training for partner agencies and support for adopters and birth parents.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to colleagues and partners.
  • Hold a limited caseload.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to direct reports.
  • Contribute to periodic reports.
  • Represent the service at meetings and forums.
  • Contribute to modernisation of adoption agenda.

About You

  • Qualified with ASYE, at least 3 years' experience.
  • Experience managing staff and leading projects.
  • Understanding of post-adoption contact and support.
  • Skilled at building positive relationships with diverse families and professionals.
  • Committed to anti-racist and inclusive practice and reducing race disparity in adoption.
  • Confident using Mosaic Case Management systems and Excel.
  • Knowledgeable in childcare and adoption legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Open to personal development and keen to develop group work and training skills.
