Our friendly and dynamic Southwark Insights & Intelligence Programme Team is looking for a committed Learning & Development Officer to help us to strengthen a learning culture across the Council. About the Programme and the Team: The Southwark Insights & Intelligence Programme (SIIP) is a Council-wide three-year programme (until March 2027). It aims to equip staff to make better use of data, evidence and community voices to inform services and policies, and achieve better outcomes, including reduced inequalities, for Southwark’s population; embed a sustainable culture of evidence-based working, research and learning in the organisation Situated in Public Health, the SIIP Team works across the Council and with external partners (universities, NHS, VCS, etc.) to deliver the programme’s ambitious aims through three workstreams: Learning & Development (L&D); Data Integration; Community Research & Co-Production. About the Role: The L&D Officer will lead on various operational aspects of the L&D workstream across the Council, working closely with the other two workstreams. They will be responsible for a broad range of L&D and research-related activities, drawing on Public Health methods and research methodologies. This will include (but is not limited to) delivering and co-ordinating training, tracking programme outcomes, identifying staff L&D needs, and promoting and supporting evidence-based working. Their work will be guided by a Health in All Policies approach. Applicants should ensure their CV and/or supporting statement demonstrates the following: Master’s in Public Health or relevant postgraduate qualification or recent and relevant experience Thorough understanding of L&D and research and evidence-based working in a Local Authority practice context Experience of undertaking evaluations to effectively measure outcomes of public health or other relevant (e.g. L&D) interventions Ability to work well with colleagues and partners with a variety of skills and backgrounds For detailed qualifications and requirements, please review the Job Description and Person Specification located at the bottom of the advert.
