Our Southwark Leisure Service is looking for a passionate and dedicated Duty Manager to join our amazing team at The Castle Leisure Centre and help make a difference today.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Duty Manager, you will be a key member of the centre’s Management Team, taking responsibility for the smooth and safe operation of the facility during your shifts. You will lead teams on duty, ensure high standards of customer care, and respond effectively to any incidents. Key responsibilities include:
- Taking full responsibility for the operation of the centre, including keyholding, opening/closing, and security
- Implementing all Normal and Emergency Operating Procedures
- Leading and managing staff on duty to ensure excellent service delivery and centre presentation
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, legislation, and Council policies
- Managing incidents and leading responses to emergency situations
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a responsible, confident, and customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. You will have:
- A calm and professional approach under pressure
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational, numerical, and written skills
- Experience in a supervisory role within leisure, hospitality, or a service environment (desirable)
- Knowledge of the day‑to‑day running of a busy leisure centre (desirable)
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
Additional Information
Full time, 36 hours per week across Monday to Sunday (shift work). DBS Enhanced check is required.
