Legal Assistant in Manchester

Landsmoor Carr Ltd is a residential property company based at Whalley Range, within 2 miles south of Manchester city centre. We are looking for a self-motivated and professional Paralegal /Legal Assistant to work closely with the Operations Director and Credit Control team. This is a key role in a small developing business.
This is initially a part time role of up to 30 hours per week.
You will be responsible for the preparation and submission of court documents and assisting at court hearings (mainly Manchester) alongside the Operations Director. You will be trusted to manage your own workload, undertake tasks accurately, and work with minimal supervision.
You will understand and be familiar with legal and court processes and have some familiarity with the basic aspects of property law such as landlord, leasehold, and tenant matters.
You will have:
· Previous experience with court processes is essential including the preperation of court bundles, dealing with case admin and liaising with defendants and credit control.
· A good academic background with a law degree desirable but not essential
. The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload.
· Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Great organisational and communication skills.
· A passion to research and propose solutions to complicated property issues.
· Good IT skills including an understanding of Microsoft Office software and document management skills.

This is a part-time role of 30 hrs working hours to suit. The work is mainly remote but you must be available for office meetings and have a willingness to endure the frustrations of court attendance. This role would suit an individual pursuing a Paralegal career, an experienced Legal Assistant, or a postgraduate law student wanting hands-on experience in property law.
Court hearings are mainly at Manchester Civil Court but may be other local courts.
