About the role
The purpose of the role is to help customers with their developer services applications. To ensure the application is reflective of the customers’ needs, all required technical elements including drawings, asset maps and relevant information are submitted to the required standard so that the application can be accepted and progressed smoothly. Guidance and reassurance will be provided to the customer by phone and digital channels throughout the application stage.
What you will be responsible for:
- Understand what developer-customers require and provide the appropriate supporting material.
- Accept and Reject applications in line with the Southern Water procedures and Water UK Levels of Service.
- Creation of Application on behalf of developer-customers when requested.
- Manage developer-customer queries received via a web-based portal, chat, telephone, email and post.
- Provision of key information to customers via web portal, chat, phone, email, or post to support the lifecycle of a DS scheme.
- Understand and process information provided on an application form.

- Excellent customer service focus, demonstrating patience and resilience when dealing with customers, maintaining a calm and professional manner at all times.
- Strong communication skills, with ability to adapt approach to different situations.
- Good persuasion and influencing skills with the ability to handle difficult situations, using empathy for customers whilst adhering to company policy.
- Ability to present information to customers concisely, clearly and accurately.
