About the role
The purpose of the role is to help customers with their developer services applications ensuring the application is reflective of the customers’ needs so that the application can be accepted and progressed smoothly. Guidance and reassurance will be provided to the customer by phone and digital channels throughout the application stage.
What you will be responsible for
- Understand what developer-customers require and provide the appropriate supporting material.
- Accept and Reject applications in line with the Southern Water procedures and Water UK Levels of Service.
- Creation of Application on behalf of developer-customers when requested.
- Manage developer-customer queries received via a web-based portal, chat, telephone, email and post.
- Work to Southern Water Processes for New Connections.
- Contributing to improved levels of developer-customer experience (D-MeX).
What you’ll bring to the role
- Previous experience of working in a customer service role (water experience is not essential for the role as comprehensive training will be provided).
- Strong communication skills, with ability to adapt approach to different situations.
- Good persuasion and influencing skills with the ability to handle difficult situations, using empathy for customers whilst adhering to company policy.
- Able to work to demanding targets and deadlines in a high pressure environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team in order to achieve targets.
