About the role:

The Senior Authorised Person will take responsibility for the implementation and operation of the electrical safe systems of work to effectively control risk. This will be a Sussex based role for the safe maintenance and operation of the companies’ high voltage systems to ensure no danger arises. The successful applicant will be expected to support the Operational Managers with recruitment and assist the H&S team with investigating and reviewing any safety related issues or incidents, to ensure robust resolutions are deployed to avoid occurrences. We also provide HV & Safety training to support you in your role.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Working alongside a team of approx. 40 Authorised Persons, including the Asset Maintenance Engineering team.
  • Be the escalation point for technical questions, advice and guidance in electrical fields.
  • Cover a large area while providing support on the setup and installation of new equipment.
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and communicate with people at all levels.
  • Motivate and drive through and implement technical and legislative changes.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Full, clean UK Manual Driving Licence.
  • Engineering qualifications to at least HNC level in electrical fields with certificates to show your qualifications.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience to deliver a high level of service.
  • A demonstrable background and knowledge within a maintenance operations-based position with extensive mechanical and electrical knowledge.
