Are you ready to play a key role in delivering critical projects in the water sector? We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Water Capital Delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage the successful delivery of non-infrastructure projects within our Water Quality and Compliance programme, helping to improve performance, efficiency, and customer outcomes while supporting our strategic goals.
About the role
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a portfolio of capital projects from concept through to completion. You’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while supporting compliance with Drinking Water Inspectorate improvement notices and Ofwat Price Control Deliverable outcomes. You will work across growth, maintenance, and regulatory-driven schemes, managing risks, budgets, programmes, and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of assigned capital projects within the Water Capital Delivery team, ensuring safe execution and delivery to time, cost, and quality targets.
- Manage project plans, budgets, schedules, risks, and change control processes to maintain effective delivery and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and regulators to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and project alignment.
- Monitor performance, report project progress, and support continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with health, safety, wellbeing, environmental, and quality standards.
About You
Experience: Strong experience delivering capital or construction projects, ideally within the water, utilities, or wider infrastructure sector.
Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of project controls, contract administration, and procurement processes, with experience of NEC contracts highly desirable.
Stakeholder Management: Ability to build effective relationships and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications: Degree in Science, Engineering, Construction, or Management (or equivalent experience). Professional membership or progress towards chartership would be beneficial.
Certifications: A recognised project management qualification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent is desirable. Knowledge of CDM and NEC for Project Managers would be advantageous.
