About the role

Are you ready to lead infrastructure projects that shape the future of water services? We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Capital Projects Directorate, delivering key water programmes as part of our 5-year Asset Management Plan (AMP). These projects, with budgets up to £10 million, play a vital role in ensuring sustainable and resilient water services for our customers. You’ll work across a range of complex projects, leading multidisciplinary teams and managing delivery from early planning through to completion. This is a varied role where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Leading projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring time, cost and quality targets are met
  • Developing and maintaining robust project plans, schedules and milestones
  • Coordinating internal teams and external partners to ensure aligned delivery
  • Managing risks, issues and dependencies to support successful project outcomes
  • Delivering clear and accurate project reporting and forecasts
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders to support collaboration and decision-making
  • Supporting programme-level planning alongside Senior Project Managers and Programme Managers

Additional requirements specific to the role:

  • Hybrid role with travel across sites and project locations
  • Occasional site visits to support delivery and compliance

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure, utilities or construction projects
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience managing project risks, budgets and schedules
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive delivery outcomes
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements within a project environment

Desirable

  • Experience within the water or regulated utilities sector
  • Understanding of project delivery within AMP cycles
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
  • Relevant qualification in project management (e.g. APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
