Job Title: Water Supply Shift Controller
Location: Burham – Due to the location being a fair distance from public transport, ownership of a driver’s license is essential for the role.
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £28,200 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Additional shift payments, standby payments, and a range of benefits including BUPA healthcare, Perkbox, and eligibility for a company bonus are provided.

Southern Water is seeking a Shift Controller to assist with the operation and maintenance of Burham Water Supply Works. The role involves monitoring and adjusting the operation of the water supply works, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and water quality standards.
Your responsibilities include overseeing continuous operation of the water supply works to ensure water quality and safety, responding to alarms and process changes, and ensuring non-potable water does not leave the site as per DWI regulations.
This full-time, permanent position involves 12-hour shifts in the following pattern:
- 4 days from 6 am to 6 pm
- 7 days off
- 3 days from 6 am to 6 pm
- 7 days off
Night shifts follow the same pattern, and some days off may require standby coverage.
