We are recruiting a Regional Security Advisor to join our security team securing our processing sites within Southern Water's vast infrastructure. As Regional Security Advisor, you will direct and control the performance of protective security within a specific geographic area and ensure some of our most critical assets are secure. You will support the operational delivery of the Southern Water Protective Security Strategy and be accountable for supporting the delivery of security across Southern Water, its supply chain, and Tier 1 Contractors within a specified region. Travel across the whole estate may be required in times of business need.
You will be the link between the overarching security legislation, regulators guidance and the business. This involves responsibilities such as:
- A thorough understanding of the relevant legislation and guidance.
- Providing advice and guidance to the business in relation to compliant security measures.
- Assuring any security upgrades/projects are compliant with the relevant Southern Water policies and standards.
- Investigating security incidents and compiling a factual report.
- Liaising with specialist police and external agencies and security suppliers on a regular basis.
- Promoting security within the business to ensure Southern Water's people, processes, premises and assets' security is maintained.
Knowledge & experience needed:
- Previous experience in a similar security role.
- Relevant physical security qualifications which include specialist security training (NPSA accredited).
- Experience/understanding of risk management processes.
- Knowledge of the integration of varied security disciplines at an operational level.
- Conducted security risk assessments and security investigations.
- Understanding of risk management processes.
- Auditing and compliance of security standards and policies.
- Stakeholder management and establishing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively within a matrix organisation and providing security advice and guidance.
- Operating at the operational level within an organisation and having corporate wide impact.
- Experience of collaboration with the police or other security agencies in delivering security or resilience.
- Delivering security testing and exercising.
