Job Summary:
This role will see you responsible for the line management of a small team of controllers and planners who are supporting a capital programme of work. Another aspect of the role is working closely with the Programme Managers on a weekly basis to be able to provide the best support for the delivery team to manage their programme within the budget and time requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the team’s productivity, output and ensuring they are supported with all that they need in order to complete work effectively and within monthly deadlines.
- Represent the team in meetings with Senior Internal Stakeholders as well as external contractors to clearly and confidently communicate ideas, updates and challenges that are being faced on behalf of the team.
- Build professional relationships with internal Southern Water teams to support the need to provide agreed data to external regulatory boards, including running and managing meetings to cover off agreement and sign off on data to be transferred to internal teams.
- Provide key information connected to monthly reporting to support the company in making key decisions on projects in flight.
- Provide an analytical view pre month end reporting to management in both delivery and PMO.
- Analyse data submitted by Southern Water contractors and run meetings on a monthly basis on this data.
- Read, analyse and present reports to higher management on a monthly basis.
- Line manage a mix of Capital Planners and Project Controllers.
Job Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the NEC suite of conditions of contract.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Experience of working within a PMO.
- Stakeholder management experience.
- Experience with working across a complex project delivery cycle.
- Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail, data handling and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Flexible and a proactive team player, ability to self-motivate and manage multiple work streams.
- Creative thinking skills to drive continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of APM / Prince II methodology.
