The predicted salary is between 22000 - 27500 £ per year.
You can be based at any of the following sites: Peel Common, Chichester or Budds Farm. You will also need to be willing to travel across multiple sites and have a current full driving licence. (A company van will be provided).

Hours: 38 hours (including a 1 in 7 standby)

You have the opportunity to earn a great base salary package of up to £27,496.64 plus a great company benefits package, in a role with stability and progression combined. You will be part of the frontline operations team at Peel Common and the business simply cannot operate without you. Every day is different; you will be working in all weather conditions carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the essential functions of our wastewater treatment works and wastewater pumping stations operate to maintain the supply to our customers and protect the environment.
Although work is generated to you on a weekly basis, you will be managing your own time, giving you the freedom and flexibility to design your own working week. You will learn how to be organised and proactive.
Your core responsibilities will be:
- Pollution sampling/reporting
- Maintenance tasks - unblocking pumps, screens and valves to ensure continuous plant operation.
- Monitoring, collating and reporting of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
- Fault finding and problem-solving skills are essential to respond to breakdowns.
- Site hygiene in line with our regulatory obligations.
- General site maintenance tasks e.g. check for H&S issues, site security, clean site and site components, reactive and PPM.
You will be:
- Comfortable working outdoors, potentially in all weather conditions.
- Prepared to work within the company’s rota of a 7-day working week and participate on a standby rota.
- Part of a team who delivers excellent performance by understanding how you affect the overall mission of Southern Water.
- Have a good sense of humour, because of what you will be working with and not to be too squeamish.
- Adaptable, flexible, patient, reliable and self-motivated.
- Good with time management.
- Confident to work effectively and efficiently on your own.
- Keen to learn and operate complex processes with high quality controls.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs grade 3 including Maths, English and Science
- You MUST have a valid UK Manual Drivers Licence
