We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Pricing and Costing Professional (internally known as Networks Tariff Lead) to join Southern Water's busy and delivery focused Economic Regulations Team.
Job Overview: The purpose of this role is to develop the tariffs/ prices for developers who access Southern Water's networks. You will develop and update charges for new connections and bulk wholesale services to developers, self-lay providers and new appointees. A part of the role will also be to participate in developing the next five year business plan as part of the price review programme, with lead responsibility for determining developer services charges.
Your day to day responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Acting as the company expert in all charging and regulatory matters relating to services to developers and new entrants, working closely with our Developer's Services team.
- Developing and annually publishing Southern Water's 'New Connection Services Charging Arrangements' and Southern Water's 'NAV Bulk Service Charges' and associated methodology statements.
- Working in the Price Review programme to model the costs and associated revenues for managing growth.
- Providing advice and expertise on Ofwat charging rules and the development of cost models where required to meet regulatory guidance.
- Representing Southern Water in industry forums and in discussions with our regulator, Ofwat.
- Responsibility for developing other market tariffs, such as network access prices for the bi-lateral market and non-primary charges.
About You: We are looking for someone with relevant qualifications in accountancy/ finance/ economics/ mathematics who has a good understanding of charges.
You will be:
- Qualified in a relevant discipline e.g. accounting/ finance/ economics/ mathematics.
- Able to work independently and with colleagues from a range of disciplines including engineering, economics and accountancy.
- Able to interpret regulatory charging rules and communicate the implications to the wider business.
Ideally you will be:
- Experienced in developing cost models and/or regulatory tariffs.
- Knowledgeable in regulatory frameworks and price review processes, ideally including the growth aspect of the network plus price controls.
- Knowledgeable in Ofwat charging rules and guidance related to new connection services and bulk tariffs.
Package: This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our Falmer (Brighton), Durrington (Worthing) offices and home. We are offering a salary of up to Β£60,000 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
