You don’t need to have auditing experience to apply - we’ll give you the training and support to develop in the role. In return, you’ll earn a salary of up to £35,000 per year, enjoy the variety of working outdoors, from home, and in the office, and be part of a growing team helping to protect the safety and integrity of our water network. It’s a unique role where you’ll directly influence customer outcomes, health & safety, and the environment.
You’ll be joining our WN&C Internal Audit team where no two days are the same. You’ll be visiting operational sites, checking on health and safety compliance, water hygiene standards, and investigating any illegal or unauthorized connections to our network. You’ll also provide coaching and feedback to teams across the region to help them work more safely and efficiently.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out field audits focused on Health & Safety and Water Hygiene standards
- Investigating illegal connections (such as unauthorized standpipes) and making sure the right permits are in place
- Visiting dig sites and operational works to observe and provide feedback on real-time activities
- Giving on-the-ground coaching and advice to improve compliance and performance
- Supporting culture change across the organization with your insight and ideas
What we’re looking for:
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence in report writing and working independently
- Ability to spot issues, ask the right questions, and follow through on investigations
- A background in auditing, compliance, enforcement, or regulated industries is a bonus - but not essential
- willingness to learn about our water network and get stuck in at site level
Qualifications:
- No specific qualifications required
- An auditing qualification is beneficial, but we’ll support you to get it if needed
The next stage in the process will be an Assessment Day which will be held at our Durrington office and taking place on the 12th May 2025.
