Position: Mechanical Reliability Engineer – Kent

Employment Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

Location: This role will be 2/3 days WFH and 2/3 travel to different Kent sites or at an office in the Kent area.

We are recruiting a Mechanical Reliability Engineer based in Kent. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies to maintain assets to high standards, aiming to increase reliability and reduce downtime.

The role involves expanding the team to focus on delivering strategies within Wastewater, transitioning from reactive to planned maintenance, and establishing a reliability-centered maintenance approach during our AMP 8 investment period.

You will design and implement RCM strategies to maintain assets cost-effectively, ensuring reliability, legislative, and environmental compliance.

Regular monitoring of maintenance strategies, asset performance review, surveillance, and KPI trending are essential to improve asset uptime and efficiency.

Conduct reliability studies such as FMECA and RCA assessments to enhance asset performance, applying industry standards and best practices in daily asset engineering activities.

Create and maintain detailed documentation of reliability strategies, maintenance procedures, failure analysis, and best practices.

Candidate requirements include:

  • A technically minded individual with strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical assets such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, blowers, compressors, generators, etc.
  • Knowledge of FMECA and RCA (not essential)
  • Experience in analyzing, operating, and maintaining assets
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and meet targets/deadlines
  • Effective cross-functional stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Flexible work approach with an engaging personal style
  • Strong logical and analytical skills, along with excellent planning abilities
  • A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent relevant industry experience
