Job Title: Sewer County Engineer Location: Millbrook WTW – Hampshire (must have a full, UK manual drivers licence and be willing to travel) Job Type: Permanent Hours: 37 Salary: Up to £45k depending on skills and experience. As a Sewer County Engineer, you will be project managing investigations, drawing on the skills of specialists within and outside of the company, with a view to identifying necessary investment and maintenance. You will need to develop a detailed understanding of operating, performance and investment issues for the sewerage system within their area. You will act as a point of contact for Asset Investment and Corporate Strategy on sewerage investment issues and to contribute towards the company’s aim of joined up and effective investment planning whilst troubleshooting the more difficult sewerage emergencies and similar sensitive issues. Problem Solving: Managing the investigation of the more serious problems and deficiencies with a view to identifying necessary investment and maintenance. Recommending major capital solutions. Programming and procuring minor capital (RCP) solutions. Advise on solutions to emergency failures Change and Innovation: To identify short to long term solutions to hydraulic and operational deficiencies in the sewerage system. To provide engineering expertise to AM & P team, Customer Services, Corporate Strategy and Field Operations Customer / Stakeholder Management: To develop good working relationships with external bodies, e.g. District Councils, Environment Agency, etc. Liaison with Customers, their representatives, District Councils, Councillors, MPs etc. in issues of concern arising from the sewerage system. Risk Management: Advising on sewerage provisions bids. Contribute to the development of Sewerage and Civil Engineering Maintenance strategies. Act as a point of contact for Network Planning on sewerage flooding issues The County Sewerage Engineer will be required to communicate across all areas of the Business and at all levels within the organisation to include Senior Management. You will be required to formulate strategies and interpret Asset Maintenance and improvement needs, resulting in contribution to the formulation of company strategies and processes. You will also be required to communicate with external agencies having an interest in the sewerage function.
