Location: Peel Common (Fareham)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 38 hours (Mon-Wed 07:30-16:00, Thurs-Fri 07:30-15:00)

Salary: Base salary £38,247.41 - £45,896.13 per annum (depending on skills and experience). Opportunities to earn extra money through overtime.

Benefits: Health Care cash plan cover (with options to upgrade for family coverage), Pension contributions up to 11% (depending on your contribution).

About the role:

Join our Workshop Team to repair and maintain mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, gearboxes, and drive systems. Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and health & safety standards.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Overhaul mechanical assets including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and drive units.
  • Interpret mechanical technical drawings and repair assets to manufacturer specifications.
  • Recommend upgrades and cost-effective solutions to operational colleagues.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance and advice over the phone when required.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, drills, and milling machines.
  • Work in an organised manner with health and safety as a priority.

Additional Requirements:

Occasional cover at other sites may be required.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Essential: Level 3 NVQ in a mechanical discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience operating machine tools (lathes, drills, milling machines).
  • Background as a fitter-turner or similar industrial apprenticeship.
