Position: EICA Reliability Engineer – Sussex

Employment Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

Location: This role will involve 2/3 days WFH and 2/3 days traveling to different Sussex sites or at an office in the Sussex area.

We are currently recruiting for an EICA Reliability Engineer based in Sussex. The successful candidate will have expertise in creating and implementing strategies to ensure assets are maintained to a high standard, aiming to increase reliability and minimize downtime.

The role involves expanding the team to focus on delivering strategies within Wastewater, transitioning from reactive to planned maintenance, and developing a reliability-centered maintenance approach during the AMP 8 investment period.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing RCM strategies to maintain assets cost-effectively, ensuring reliability, legislative, and environmental compliance. Regular monitoring of maintenance strategies, asset performance review, surveillance, and KPI trending to improve uptime and efficiency are essential.

The candidate will conduct reliability studies such as FMECA and RCA assessments to drive asset performance improvements, applying industry standards and best practices in asset engineering activities. Maintaining detailed documentation of strategies, procedures, failure analyses, and best practices is also required.

To succeed, you should have:

  • A strong technical skillset and a technical mind
  • Knowledge of electrical and ICA assets such as LV/HV circuits, instrumentation, motors, etc.
  • Knowledge of FMECA and RCA (not essential)
  • Experience in analyzing, operating, and maintaining assets
  • The ability to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and meet targets/deadlines
  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • A flexible approach and engaging personal style
  • Excellent logical, analytical, and planning skills
  • An electrical or instrumentation engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
