Our BI Engineering team plays a key role in turning trusted data into meaningful insight that helps the organisation make better decisions.

The role: As a BI Engineer, you’ll be part of a domain‑aligned agile squad, supporting the development of the semantic layer and Power BI reporting solutions. You’ll work closely with Senior BI Engineers and Data Modellers to build high‑quality, well‑governed analytics products that are used across the business. This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in Databricks and Power BI, who is looking to grow their skills in a collaborative, modern data environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting in the build and maintenance of the semantic layer for reporting and analytics
  • Developing Power BI datasets and reports based on defined business requirements
  • Writing and testing code in Databricks to validate solution designs and assess data availability and data quality
  • Collaborating with Senior BI Engineers and Data Modellers to translate feature definitions into technical deliverables
  • Supporting metadata management, data governance and best practices
  • Improving performance and usability of reports and semantic models
  • Applying basic data security and access controls within Power BI
  • Participating in agile ceremonies, backlog refinement and sprint planning

What we’re looking for: We’re looking for someone who is curious, collaborative and keen to develop their capability in data and analytics. You’ll have 2–3 years’ experience in a data development or analytics role.

Working knowledge of Databricks (SQL, Python or PySpark)

Experience building Power BI reports and semantic models

Understanding of data quality principles and basic performance optimisation

Familiarity with agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

Technical knowledge (desirable): Exposure to Azure Data Lake or Delta Lake

Experience with Power Query (M) and DAX

Understanding of data warehousing concepts

Awareness of data governance, metadata management and data privacy/security principles

Qualifications:

Essential: Power BI certification or equivalent training

Desirable: Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related discipline

Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate

Azure Fundamentals certification
