As part of Southern Water’s drive to enhance and protect the environment, the Environment & Innovation team are deploying the latest innovative solutions and working in partnership with our customers and stakeholders. The team takes a holistic approach to managing water quality and flow across the region, with a portfolio that has rapidly expanded from £50 million to over £2 billion in the next 10-year period. This is a fast-paced team that is now expanding to continue to deliver a larger programme of new and sustainable solutions.
We’re excited to announce a brand-new opportunity to support our Environment & Innovation team as a Content Specialist.
About the role
You will be responsible for designing and creating impactful content produced by and for the Environment and Innovation Directorate, to educate, inform and demonstrate progress to our customers, stakeholders and colleagues.
What you will be responsible for:
- Conveying messages in a succinct but engaging and exciting way for customers, in a language they understand. Messaging needs to be consumable and land with different audiences, through different channels, and appeals to a wide variety of agendas.
- Work closely with the Senior Content Creator, Marketing & Brand and Communications teams to ensure key messaging is imaginatively packaged and evolves over time.
- Producing materials that include educational pieces, campaign collateral, presentation materials, internal and external case studies, customer letters, documentation, reports and consumer pieces.
- Continuously improve content, providing creative ideas and keeping content in line with current best practice adapting it and evolving it in line with business needs.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Ability to independently manage and build impactful content, acting as guardian of editorial standards and compliance across collateral created by and for the team.
- A passion for protecting and improving the environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience of using a variety of forms of storytelling and content.
- 2+ years’ experience of designing and creating high quality, impactful content.
- Creative and innovative thinker, pushing beyond the industry expectations and focus on public consumption/language the public can relate to.
