Job Title: Capital Projects Customer AssistantLocation: Durrington or Falmer (2 days onsite, 3 days WFH) Southern Water is seeking a confident and organised Capital Projects Customer Assistant to support the planning, coordination and delivery of strategic customer engagement activities across our investment programme. This role is central to building strong relationships with our communities, protecting and enhancing our reputation, and ensuring customers and stakeholders are kept informed through clear, honest and targeted communications.You will work closely with delivery partners, stakeholders and internal teams to ensure our projects are communicated effectively, complaints are reduced, and communities feel supported and engaged. This is a varied role with opportunities to grow, shadow projects, and eventually step up to lead initiatives of your own.Overall Purpose of the Role- Lead on team administrative tasks, reporting and event organisation. Knowledge and Experience - Background in customer management and communications (marketing or education experience ideal). - Experience in a larger organisation is a bonus. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and to engage stakeholders at all levels.- Strategic thinker with the ability to independently drive forward workplans. - Strong influencing and relationship management skills at all levels. - Confident, self-starting and detail-oriented with strong organisational skills. - Structured progression path into a team lead role. - Learn from experienced colleagues across all areas of capital projects. This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach between our Durrington or Falmer office and working from home, with occasional travel to sites when required.
