About the role
Are you ready to lead infrastructure projects that shape the future of water services? We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Capital Projects Directorate, delivering key water programmes as part of our 5-year Asset Management Plan (AMP). These projects, with budgets up to £10 million, play a vital role in ensuring sustainable and resilient water services for our customers. You’ll work across a range of complex projects, leading multidisciplinary teams and managing delivery from early planning through to completion. This is a varied role where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact.
What you will be responsible for:
- Leading projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring time, cost and quality targets are met
- Developing and maintaining robust project plans, schedules and milestones
- Coordinating internal teams and external partners to ensure aligned delivery
- Managing risks, issues and dependencies to support successful project outcomes
- Delivering clear and accurate project reporting and forecasts
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders to support collaboration and decision-making
- Supporting programme-level planning alongside Senior Project Managers and Programme Managers
Additional requirements specific to the role:
- Hybrid role with travel across sites and project locations
- Occasional site visits to support delivery and compliance
What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure, utilities or construction projects
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing project risks, budgets and schedules
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive delivery outcomes
- Understanding of health & safety requirements within a project environment
Desirable
- Experience within the water or regulated utilities sector
- Understanding of project delivery within AMP cycles
- Knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
- Relevant qualification in project management (e.g. APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
