High-quality information is essential to delivering safe, compliant homes. We’re looking for a Document Controller to join our Strategy & Information team. This is a key role supporting the successful delivery and handover of our development programme, helping to ensure project information is accurate, complete, compliant and available when it is needed.

You’ll take ownership of information across a portfolio of residential development projects, working closely with contractors, consultants and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll play an important role in maintaining the quality and integrity of information that supports safe, compliant homes and effective handover.

What you’ll do:

  • Take ownership of document and information management across multiple residential development projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage your own portfolio of projects and be expected to work proactively with project teams to make sure information is provided to the required standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Carry out quality assurance reviews of key project documentation to ensure information is complete, accurate, compliant and ready for handover.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to identify and resolve information gaps, inconsistencies and queries.
  • Lead or coordinate and progress internal and external meetings with key stakeholders tracking actions through to resolution.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality information in line with the Building Safety Act and Golden Thread requirements.
  • Manage and maintain accurate project records, including drawings, technical information O&M documentation, H&S files, fire information and other handover records.
  • Ensure robust version control, document status and audit trails are maintained within project document management systems/Common Data Environments.
  • Support the continuous improvement of document control and information management process.
  • Escalate risks, delays and non-compliance where required, working with project teams to achieve timely resolution.

You’ll be working in a hybrid way, with a minimum of two days (subject to change) based at one of our offices in either Farringdon, Maidstone or Sittingbourne.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience working in document control, information management, development or project delivery within residential construction, housebuilding or a similar built environment setting.
  • Experience using SharePoint and document management systems/Common Data Environments (CDEs).
  • A good understanding of construction drawings and technical documentation, including architectural, structural, MEP civils and fire information.
  • Experience carrying out quality assurance checks and ensuring information is complete, accurate and compliant before handover.
  • A good understanding of the Building Safety Act, the Golden Thread and the importance of high-quality information throughout a building’s lifecycle.
  • Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships and work collaboratively with contractors and colleagues.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify issues and follow them through to resolution.
