Southern Housing’s in‑house charity, Fresh Visions, supports children, young people and adults facing extreme disadvantage as a result of poverty, domestic abuse, lack of education and social exclusion. We are now recruiting a Health & Wellbeing Project Officer on a Fixed Term Contract until March 2027 to work on our InTouch seniors programme, which focuses on reducing isolation and loneliness among residents aged 55 years and over.

About The Role

As a Health & Wellbeing Project Officer, you will play a key role in improving the quality of life and wellbeing of older residents by designing and delivering a holistic programme of support activities.

You Will:

  • Devise, plan and deliver an annual programme of personal development, health and wellbeing activities for residents and participants.
  • Manage a caseload, providing 1‑to‑1 support, information, advice and guidance.
  • Provide basic digital support and guidance to senior residents, helping them build confidence using everyday digital tools (such as smartphones, tablets, email, online services and virtual activities).
  • Deliver training, group activities and community‑based projects, including in‑person and digitally supported sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with community stakeholders, partners and volunteers.
  • Support residents to overcome barriers to engagement, including digital exclusion.
  • Ensure activities achieve measurable health and wellbeing outcomes, with clear outputs and impact.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to achieving overall project objectives.
  • Support the effective delivery of the annual work programme across Southern Housing neighbourhoods.

This role requires regular travel across Southern Housing communities.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring a passion for supporting older people and improving wellbeing, alongside:

  • Relevant work experience or a qualification in community development, health, wellbeing or welfare‑related fields.
  • Experience of devising and delivering health and wellbeing activities in partnership with community stakeholders.
  • Proven experience providing 1‑to‑1 support, advice and guidance.
  • Confidence supporting others with basic digital skills, particularly older people who may be new to technology.
  • Experience of recruiting, supporting or managing volunteers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • A full UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle.
