PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Deliver a high standard of inpatient care, contributing to service development as appropriate.
  • Provide professional leadership including clinical supervision to the medical team and to provide clinical leadership to the MDT.
  • Assess and treat patients as a member of the multidisciplinary team in keeping with the principles of ‘New Ways of Working’.
  • Work with consultants in the mental health directorate and their teams to ensure appropriate management of patients where appropriate.
  • Develop a close working relationship with colleagues in the acute hospital and participate in regular interface meetings.
  • Ensure effective liaison with other agencies including the voluntary and statutory sectors as appropriate.
  • To assist with the further development of training and education for trust staff across a range of directorates.
