About the role

Here at SES part of the wider RSK Group, we are looking for an experienced, detail-focused Invasive Weed Surveyor / Project Manager to join our growing team in the East of England.

The role will involve surveying, assessing and managing invasive non-native species, with a particular focus on Japanese knotweed. You will work across residential, commercial and development sites, providing clients with clear technical advice, accurate reports and practical management solutions.

This is a varied hybrid role combining site surveys, office-based reporting, project management and home working.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out surveys for Japanese knotweed and other invasive non-native species.
• Produce clear and accurate survey reports and Invasive Weed Management Plans.
• Advise clients on appropriate treatment, control and remediation options.
• Manage treatment programmes across residential, commercial and development sites.
• Oversee excavation, removal, burial and disposal works.
• Supervise routine in-situ herbicide treatment programmes.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and site teams.
• Monitor project progress, costs, quality and compliance.
• Maintain accurate site records, photographs and supporting documentation.
• Support the preparation of quotations, tenders and technical proposals.
• Ensure work is delivered safely and in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance and company procedures.

The role will primarily cover the East of England, with occasional travel to other parts of the UK depending on project requirements. Some overnight stays may be required.

Essential Skills And Experience

• Proven experience surveying and managing Japanese knotweed and other invasive non-native species.
• CSJK qualification.
• PA1 and PA6AW pesticide application qualifications.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Experience producing technical reports and management plans.
• Knowledge of relevant waste, environmental and biosecurity requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Confident communication and client-facing skills.
• A practical and proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Flexibility to travel across the East of England and occasionally elsewhere in the UK.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills And Experience

• SSSTS qualification.
• Experience managing excavation or remediation projects.
• CAD or digital mapping experience.
• Experience preparing quotations or supporting tender submissions.

Where appropriate, training may be provided to obtain or renew relevant qualifications.
