Ecological Clerk of Works:

Southern Ecological Solutions, part of the RSK Group is seeking a Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoW). This position will be working from different sites across the South and South East of England. This is a great opportunity to join a very successful organisation on some very exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Have previous ECoW experience, preferably on large infrastructure projects.
• Have an understanding of a wide range of ecological issues relating to site work, specifically in relation to mitigation and licensing.
• Be competent to undertake ecological site assessments, including carrying out surveys for a range of protected species and frequently encountered invasive species.
• Have experience on developing precautionary working methods and demonstrate a clear understanding of relevant wildlife legislation.
• Be confident to deliver on-site advice and ecological toolbox talks to contractors and engineers.
• Manage their own time to ensure that work is delivered on time and to the required standards.

Person Specification

• Have a Degree or Diploma in Ecology / Environmental discipline, or other relevant qualification
• Hold at least one European Protected Species licence, and have experience in surveys for other protected species
• Membership of CIEEM (or other relevant professional body)
• Have previous ECoW experience, preferably on large infrastructure projects.
• Have an understanding of a wide range of ecological issues relating to site work, specifically in relation to mitigation and licensing.
• Be competent to undertake ecological site assessments, including carrying out surveys for a range of protected species and frequently encountered invasive species.

Competitive Salary (Depending on Experience)

Full UK Drivers licence and use of own vehicle required.

This is a fixed term position through the season, with potential for future opportunities depending on performance.

Landscape design and planning services teams specialise in strategic projects, combining an innovative and context-led approach to design.
