Southern Ecological Solutions, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW). This position will be working from different sites across the South and South East of England. This is a great opportunity to join a very successful organisation on some exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have previous ECoW experience, preferably on large infrastructure projects.
  • Have an understanding of a wide range of ecological issues relating to site work, specifically in relation to mitigation and licensing.
  • Be competent to undertake ecological site assessments, including carrying out surveys for a range of protected species and frequently encountered invasive species.
  • Have experience in developing precautionary working methods and demonstrate a clear understanding of relevant wildlife legislation.
  • Be confident to deliver on-site advice and ecological toolbox talks to contractors and engineers.
  • Manage their own time to ensure that work is delivered on time and to the required standards.

Person Specification:

  • Have a Degree or Diploma in Ecology / Environmental discipline, or other relevant qualification.
  • Hold at least one European Protected Species licence, and have experience in surveys for other protected species.
  • Membership of CIEEM (or other relevant professional body).

  • This is a fixed term position through the season, with potential for future opportunities depending on performance.
