Southern Cross School, part of Ambition Community Trust, is seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated and relationally inclusive team.
We are recruiting experienced Teaching Assistants who excel as part of a team and understand a range of teaching, learning and behaviour regulation strategies. The successful candidate will motivate students to strive for success while maintaining a healthy learning environment for all children.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils in classroom, around school and on trips and activities.
- Work with a wide range of class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
- Mentor children on a 1:1 or group basis.
- Accompany groups on trips.
- Support assessment and evidencing learning.
- Work with teachers to create learning resources and environments.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all learners.
- Create opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability.
- Engage with hard‑to‑reach pupils and families to support them with education and beyond.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educated to National Qualifications Framework Level 3 standard, e.g., NVQ 3, A/AS levels or equivalent.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative.
- High level of communication skills and ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- Excellent in using relevant technology and equipment.
- Can‑do attitude.
- Committed to the happiness, well‑being, self‑esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
Employment Details
Full‑time equivalent appointment is based on 36 hours per week, with pay for 35 hours per week.
